Plasma treatment is a tool that can be used in dental research, providing innovative solutions to enhance the properties of dental materials. It can be used to enhance the surface characteristics of materials such as titanium used in implants, ceramics for crowns and bridges, and composite resins. The treatment alters the surface energy, making the materials more hydrophilic and thereby improving the adhesion of dental cements, adhesives, and coatings. This results in stronger bonds, reducing the likelihood of restoration failure and improving the longevity of dental work.
Plasma is used for dental research only. Harrick Plasma cleaners are not FDA approved.
