About US

Harrick Plasma Cleaners were originally developed in conjunction with Harrick Scientific, our sister company, to clean optical components for infrared (IR) spectroscopy. Through the years, plasma cleaning and surface modification became increasingly beneficial for many different research applications beyond IR spectroscopy and thus expanded to other research disciplines including microfluidics, biomedical engineering, life science, solar cell technology, and advanced materials. As a result, our instruments have been cited in over 5000 technical articles and nearly 300 patents.

With over 30 years of experience, Harrick Plasma continues to be trusted globally to deliver innovative plasma products to professional and academic research laboratories. Our technical team has a varied engineering and science background and is familiar with performing experimental work in a lab setting. We welcome individuals with diverse scientific, engineering, and technical backgrounds to join our team.

What Our Customers are Saying…

“Harrick Plasma’s instruments have proved to be very user friendly, with little to no experience required to successfully operate. Their well designed instruments, paired with the extremely knowledgeable, quick responding, and research guiding staff scientists have given me the ability to transform my ideas into meaningful research and data.”

Morgan Malm | Graduate Student | Purdue University

What Our Customers are Saying…

“Plasma treatment is an essential part of our microfluidic devices fabrication. We use a Harrick Plasma Cleaner to activate the surface of polydimethylsilicone (PDMS) devices and glass coverslips for permanent bonding. We use microfluidic devices for studies in cell migration and cellular biomechanics. The Harrick Plasma instrument has been extremely robust and reliable in our 7+ years of work with it.”

Jan Lammerding, PhD | Associate Professor | Cornell University

What Our Customers are Saying…

“We have worked with Harrick Plasma for several years now to introduce their plasma cleaners to researchers and businesses for PDMS bonding and microfluidic device fabrication. The Harrick Plasma systems are robust as well as easy to use and maintain. We and all our customers are happy to work with them!”

Sebastian Cargou, PhD | R&D Director | BlackHole Lab

What Our Customers are Saying…

“The Harrick Plasma cleaner is easy to use and can quickly process many samples in a short time. Also the technical staff is readily available to answer any scientific questions regarding the handling of machine. l would highly recommend using a Harrick Plasma cleaner for anyone looking to perform plasma treatment as part of their research.”

Avinash Patil, PhD | Postdoc | University of California, San Francisco

What Our Customers are Saying…

“Harrick Plasma’s products have played a central role in our efforts to develop new technologies for single-cell mRNA sequencing, such as Seq-Well. Harrick Plasma Cleaners reliably functionalize the micro-devices and membranes we use for Seq-Well. We have several Harrick plasma cleaners in lab and have traveled with them globally to enable our experiments. We wholeheartedly recommend Harrick to all labs running Seq-Well – they’ve been a great and trusted partner.”

Alex Shalek, PhD | Assistant Professor | MIT | Shalek Lab Seq-Well Protocol
