Nanofibers

Nanofibers are fibers that have a diameter of less than 100 nanometers. They can be assembled to form fibrous meshes or membranes and have a range of applications, including use as scaffolds for tissue engineering and for filtration applications. Plasma treatment can prepare fiber surfaces prior to attaching functional molecules or to alter fiber properties.
